A little about me.
"My earliest musical influences where through my dad, who was a singer in his teens and early twenties. He played a lot of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Nat King Cole, Tommy Dorsey and all that big band swing music in the house. He made a demo 45 that my brother and I always loved to listen to. My first influences were singers. At age 12, after I went to my first rock concert (Kiss) and then I started taking guitar lessons. I wanted the spectacle of being a rock star. Then 4 years later I saw Bruce Springsteen in concert and that changed everything. It was a religious experience. I wanted to entertain – I wanted to write great songs and get into peoples hearts. Later on I kind of put down the guitar and music after pluggin away trying to "make it". Then I moved to California through a job I had at the time selling guitars and met some great friends and musicians who turned me onto blues, reminded about the passion and power of music. We would sit around in jam sessions for hours just like all of the stories I had read about musicians and that community of music they would have around them. Sharing ideas and fostering thet brotherhood. I never had that back home. I found myself on a mission – I wanted to play like Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Well as I realized quickly - nobody can play like those guys. But the fire was back nonetheless. A couple years later, after I had moved back home to Pa., I started getting heavily into Dylan and the Band ( the Last Waltz, Clapton's Unplugged and Dylan's Unplugged became my high water mark ). I played with a blues band for a while but after that ended I decided I needed to keep playing on my own so I just picked up my acoustic guitar and started along the singer songwriter road which is probably more true to my style these days. There is a never ending list of musicians, singer songwriters who influence me - notably Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, John Prine, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, etc. I almost feel that it is a disservice listing only these names becuase there are so many others that I could list - Tom Petty - George Harrison, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt, Alison Krauss, Lennon McCartney, Jim Croce, Hank Williams, Van Morrison, Neil Young, I could literally go on for hours. Today all of those influences make up who I am musically.
